Hello, Bailey! Now that is news! It’s about time someone stopped that… man… from operating on trans patients. Here’s the latest from my sources both at Husky and Mount Sinai: you’re right in that the hospital has put the brakes on ALL out of state insurance procedures as they reconfigure how they will proceed with them in this new year. I was lucky in getting mine before they did this, and Ting is still a provider in the CHNCT (Husky) program. So I think it’s just a matter of time. As far as refusing to book a consult, I have not heard that, but I guess if the hospital isn’t approving surgeries that follows that they won’t book consults. Please keep me posted with your progress. Although Ting was my surgeon of choice, there are many, many more qualified surgeons out there. Problem is, of course, getting the coverage and getting them to agree to that. If Husky had not nickel and dimed on every single thing Mount Sinai wanted money for, I doubt you’d be in this situation. As it stands, the hospital actually waived its fee for my revision because of Husky’s cheapskate ways. That astounds me.
